What Do We Teach & How Do We Teach It?
The Learning Edge Tutoring Center actively supports ALL students, in all educational models (public, private, homeschool), Grades PreK-12.
We currently specialize in Reading & Language, Mathematics, and Social Studies/History, but we are always eager to add additional subjects to our repertoire!
The Learning Edge Tutoring Center's students do range quite broadly, however, each student is assigned a dedicated teacher and a their own private instructional time. Learning Edge students are never expected to share their learning time with other student -and this option matters! If you do prefer to share your learning time with others who are learning the same skills or grade level subject, we also have small group (1:2 or 1:3) lessons available!
The Learning Edge has a fully equipped and dedicated learning facility that houses all curriculum and resources that we might need to comfortably & conveniently support all of the students we serve. Anything that we think that we might need - we acquire. It is that simple, and just one of the many reasons why our licensed tutors are confident and fully equipped to support their students in all educational models.

Reading & Language
Looking to boost your child's reading and language skills? Our tutoring services provides individualized support that is specifically tailored to the skills your student needs and will propel them quickly. Our FREE pre-assessments pinpoint the reading and language skills that need to be taught and mastered first in order to lay a firm foundation of knowledge and skill that all future learning will rest upon. Reading & Language is highly complex and it is also multifaceted. We have the curriculum, training, and expertise to support your child in all areas of their reading & language development. Let us help your child to become a confident and eloquent reader, speller and writer that we know they CAN be!
Strong Foundations
At Learning Edge, we are dedicated to providing a strong foundation in every subject we teach. Through our engaging lessons and personalized instruction, students achieve academic success that ensures their future success and fosters a love for learning that will continue for a lifetime. In addition to their academic growth, Learning Edge students also refine their study and organizational skills; two non-academic areas that are especially important in middle school and beyond! Our study skills curriculum explicitly teaches the processes and procedures for managing coursework, identifying how YOU learn, creating a plan for tackling assignments, and how to complete those tasks more quickly and efficiently. These skills fall under an umbrella called "Executive Functioning," and no, unfortunately we are not born with them. Students who practice and master these skills are less likely to experience academic "burn out" or a feeling of overwhelm with their current coursework and/or schedules. Learning Edge tutors understand that this is a gradual process, and we want this process should feel manageable and attainable for our students in all phases of their educational journey.
Mathematics
Our mathematics tutoring is specifically designed to support students at all levels to achieve and master their math goals. Whether a student needs support in a primary concept or is ready to tackle advanced math skills, our experienced tutors ready to help them cross the finish line! After a FREE math pre-assessment is completed, our Learning Edge tutors quickly identify any & all learning gaps that would serve as a roadblock for new learning. Once all deficits are addressed, students will experience an level of ease and confidence with mastering their new skills. Identifying and re-teaching prerequisites is something that Learning Edge tutors are very good at, and this allows our students to advance very quickly!
Tried & True Methods
Effective tutoring relies on tried and true methods that have consistently yielded positive results. These methods, refined over time, allow our tutors to tailor their approach to the individual learning styles and personal needs of each student they serve. Embracing & implementing these strategies make a significant difference in each student's academic growth, and ensures that they receive the most effective support for them. These methods are extensively researched and perfected by The Learning Edge team prior to their full implementation, however, these methods and approaches are additionally adapted to the specific accommodations our students might need, desire, or require. These accommodations could include a base-school IEP or 504 plan, restrictive academic timeline, or a specific educational need that requires assistive tools, techniques, or technology. There will never be a "one size fits all" teaching method or approach. This is important to acknowledge as a fact. There is no one as unique as you, and we celebrate that!
